पिछले अध्यायों में आत्मस्वरूप और उसके आवरणों से जिज्ञासुओं को परिचित कराने का प्रयत्न किया गया है । इस अध्याय में आत्मा और परमात्मा का संबंध बताने का प्रयत्न किया जाएगा।अब तक जिज्ञासु ‘अहम्’ का जो रूप समझ सके हैं, वास्तव में वह उससे कहीं अधिक है। विश्वव्यापी आत्मा परमात्मा, महत्तत्त्व,परमेश्वर का ही वह अंश है। तत्त्वतः उसमें कोई भिन्नता नहीं है।
