Khalifa Umar (civil and spiritual head of the state) was going with his Gulam (servant) through a village. He saw an old woman weeping bitterly. On enquiry, she said-“My young son was killed in the war and now I am starving but Khalifa had no idea about my pitiable condition.”

Khalifa returned back with his Gulam. He lifted a bagful of wheat on his back and started to go to that woman’s house. Gulam said “Why are you carrying this on your back? Let me carry this bag.” Khalifa said “I will have to carry the load of my sing myself to the house of God. You will not be there to help me.”

After receiving the wheat, old woman asked his name. He told “I am Khalifa Umar.” Old lady blessed him and said “This tendency of considering the pain of the public as pain of your own family will make you a role model of all Khalifas. You will get millions of blessings and will become immortal.”
