Sant Chidambar was a very famous spiritual person. People used to pray before him and got blessings from him. Once, a woman prayed before him and requested to be blessed with a son. Sant gave her some roasted gram to eat first. She sat under a tree and started eating gram. Many small children were playing nearby. They came closer, expecting to get some gram to eat but the woman continued to eat and gave nothing to them.
After finishing this meal, she again went to the Sant with her desire for a son. Sant said—“Devi ! When you could not be generous to give few grams to the children, how do you expect God to give you a precious gift of a son for nothing?”
Only generous persons are blessed by God.
