As a young child, I was very selfish, always choosing the best for myself. Gradually, all my friends left me and I had no friends anymore. I didn’t think it was my fault and I kept criticizing others but my father gave me 3 days 3 messages to help me in life. One day, my father made 2 bowls of halwa and
placed them on the table. There were 2 almonds on top of one, while there was nothing on the halwa in the other bowl. Then he asked me to choose one bowl of halwa because till those days it was difficult for the poor to come to the house of poor people. Chosen!I was congratulating myself on my wise choice/decision and was eating the 2 almond pudding I got soon but I was not surprised when I saw that 8 almonds were hidden under my father’s bowl! With great remorse, I scolded myself for making haste in my decision. My father smiled and taught me to remember thatwhat you see in your eyes cannot always be true. He said that if you make your habit of selfishness, you will win and lose. The next day, my father again cooked 2 bowls of halwa and 2 almonds on top of a bowl, and another bowl with no almonds on the table.Again he asked me to choose the bowl for myself. This time I remembered yesterday’s message so I chose an almond bowl on top but to my surprise this time there was not a single almond hidden under this bowl! Again, my father smilingly said to me, “My child, you should not always rely on experiences because sometimes, life can betray you or play tricks on you. Never be more upset or saddened by situations.” Yes, just consider the experience as a lesson experience that cannot be obtained from any textbooks. On the third day, my father again cooked 2 bowls of halwa, one bowl on top of 2 almonds, and the other on top. Not almonds. Told me to choose the bowl I wanted. But this time, I told my father, Father, you choose first, you are the head of the family and you contribute the most in the family. You will choose what is best for me.My father was happy for me. He chose the bowl with 2 almonds on top, but as I ate my bowl pudding! There were 2 more almonds just below the bowl pudding. My father smiled and gazing with love in my eyes, he said, my child, you have to remember that when you give up on God, they will always choose the best for you when you think for the good of others, good things will always happen to you naturally.
