Gandhiji was on a peace-keeping mission to Noakhali. He was meeting people and also consoling distressed persons. At the same time, he was also cleaning the streets. He used leaves to collect excreta and filth to dump it in the pits.
He said “Cleanliness is the most valuable human quality. It does not require any fixed time or programme. It can be done alongwith normal daily routine also. One only needs to understand the value of cleanliness”.
