Vivekanand was to go abroad. He went to mother Shardamani for her blessings. Mataji said-“First do one thing, then I will bless you.” Pointing to a naked sword placed nearby, she said “Bring that to me.”
Vivekanand picked up the sword and gave its handle to mother, while holding the pointed and sharp edge himself. Mother blessed him and said “One, who understands the problems of others and himself takes all pain is always blessed by God. You will always get blessings and favour of God.”
Vivekanand used to say-“I learnt and acquired many good qualities in the family atmosphere of Ramkrishna Paramhans. Excellent family traditions help in developing ideal Sanskars in a person”.
